Assessments

Assessment tools serve a meaningful purpose in strengthening the effectiveness of human capital management processes. Appropriately used, these can yield valuable information and increased effectiveness in the design and implementation of critical human capital management elements such as hiring, assignment, training, development, promotion, and retention.

- Technical: assesses the skill and knowledge normally required for the effective exercise of a particular task or function such as software applications, writing, accounting, office administration, computer programming, data collection & analysis and foreign language fluency

- Behavioral: assesses the behaviors and attitudes needed to establish a fit with the position and/or the company’s culture.  It may entail multiple elements such as adaptability, communication, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, decision-making, stress management, customer service, empathy, teamwork,  initiative and influence management

- Organizational: assesses distinct components of various organizational initiatives such as leadership development (e.g., 360, emotional intelligence, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, D.I.S.C, Strengths Finder), and organizational climate (e.g., employee engagement, corporate culture & values, new-hire survey, university relations)
